BBL (Broad Band Light) HERO
Belle proudly offers Sciton’s proprietary technology featuring BBL® HERO™ . BBL stands for Broad Band Light and may sound more familiar as IPL or phototherapy. BBL Hero, however, is superior to other IPL devices as it focuses on safely and effectively treating your aesthetic concerns.
What does HERO mean?
- HERO stands for Hight Energy Rapid Output
- This technology means that we can safely deliver a treatment with 4x the speed, 3x the power, and 2x the cooling than prior devices.
What does BBL Hero treat?
- This is a hight customizable treatment to treat many skin conditions using filters to target different concerns.
- Targets pigmented lesions (freckles, sun spots), skin flushing (rosacea), acne, hair removal and skin tightening.
- Suitable for skin types 1-5
What can I expect during my BBL Hero appointment?
- A consultation is required before a BBL Hero treatment. It is crucial that your provider determines if you are a good candidate for this treatment & that your skin is ready for a BBL Hero treatment.
- Your provider will collect a detailed medical history, review prior cosmetic treatments (if applicable), review consent forms and answer any questions you may have regarding the treatment itself and/or post care.
- Photos for your chart will be taken to be able to review the treatments success.
- Your face will be cleansed and ultrasound gel will be applied to the treated area. No numbing required for this treatment.
- You will wear protective eyewear during the treatment.
- The skin will be mildly pink to red in appearance. Any pigmentation that was treated will appear darker, and areas of redness will appear more red. This will vary from patient to patient.
- SPF will be applied prior to leaving the office.
- You will receive detailed post care instructions.
How long is a BBL Hero appointment?
- If doing a consult + treatment, this will be approximately 1 hour.
- If consult was done prior, your treatment will be 30 minutes.
Is there downtime?
- There is minimal to no downtime.
- Most of the “downtime” is social downtime. Meaning that if we are treating pigmentation, such as sunspots or freckles, these will appear much darker and then become smaller and flake off.
- You may wear make up during this healing time.
- Must remain out of direct sunlight for 2 weeks before & after. If in the sun must wear hat and have SPF.
How many treatments will I need?
- This will vary from patient to patient. Most will see significant improvement in 3 treatments.
- To maintain treatment results, it is crucial to be diligent with skincare and SPF.
Are there any contraindications to a BBL Hero treatment?
- Must not have an active tan in the treatment area for 2 weeks prior. This includes sunless tanner, spray tans, tanning drops, etc.
- Not recommended for skin type 6
What other treatments can I do with BBL Hero?
- Moxi - a non ablative fractional laser that complements BBL Hero, further enhancing your results and providing more textural improvement with resurfacing (See MOXI for more details).
